This

answer. Once you finish the lesson on your own. You can look at my answers.
Anytime you do Bible study ask yourself these 3 questions:
3

·
What is this passage about?
·
What do I learn from this passage?
·
How can I apply what I have learned to my life?
Scripture
to meditate on before you do this week’s Bible study:
Romans
5:6-8 NIV
You
see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the
ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man
someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in
this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans
8:1-4 NIV
Therefore,
there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through
Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and
death. For what the law was
powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by
sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so
he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the
righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live
according to the sinful nature but according to the spirit.

This
Week’s Bible passage from the Gospel of Mark:
Mark 14:22-25
Read
the passages below:

Mark
14:22-25 NIV
22While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke
it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take it; this is my
body."
23Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, and
they all drank from it.
24"This is my blood of the[a] covenant, which is poured out for many," he
said to them. 25"I tell you the truth, I will not drink again
of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom
of God."
Luke
22:17-20 NIV
17After taking the cup, he gave thanks
and said, "Take this and divide it among you. 18For I tell
you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God
comes."
19And he took bread, gave thanks
and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for
you; do this in remembrance of me."
20In the same way, after the
supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my
blood, which is poured out for you.
Isaiah
59:20-21 NIV
20 "The Redeemer will come
to Zion,
to those in Jacob who repent of their sins," declares the LORD.
21 "As for me, this is my
covenant with them," says the LORD. "My Spirit, who is on you, and
my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth, or
from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of their descendants
from this time on and forever," says the LORD.
Jeremiah
31:33-34 NIV
33 "This is the covenant I
will make with the house of Israel
after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
34 No longer will a man teach
his neighbor,
or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
Hebrews
9:15-23 NIV
15For this reason Christ is the
mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the
promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them
free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
16In the case of a will,[a] it is necessary to prove the death of the one who
made it, 17because a will is in force only when somebody has died;
it never takes effect while the one who made it is living. 18This
is why even the first covenant was not put into effect without blood. 19When
Moses had proclaimed every commandment of the law to all the people, he took
the blood of calves, together with water, scarlet wool and branches of
hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll and all the people. 20He said,
"This is the blood of the covenant, which God has commanded you to
keep."[b] 21In the same way, he sprinkled with the
blood both the tabernacle and everything used in its ceremonies. 22In
fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and
without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
23It was necessary, then, for
the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but
the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Jesus fulfilled
many of the prophecies of the Messiah during His birth, life, ministry, death,
and resurrection. However, there are some prophecies regarding the Messiah that
Jesus has not, as of yet, fulfilled. The Second Coming of Christ will be the
return of Christ to fulfill these remaining prophecies. In His first coming,
Jesus was the suffering servant. In His Second Coming, Jesus will be the
conquering King. In His first coming, Jesus arrived in the most humble of
circumstances. In His Second Coming, Jesus will arrive with the armies of
Heaven at His side. Here is a description from
Revelation.
Revelation
19:11-16 NIV
The Rider on the White Horse
11I saw heaven standing open and
there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.
With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing
fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one
knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and
his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him,
riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out
of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.
"He will rule them with an iron scepter."[a] He treads the
winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe
and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Here is a
description from Matthew:
Matthew
24:30 NIV
30"At that time the sign of
the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will
mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power
and great glory.
Is
there an example to follow or not to follow?
·
Jesus
took the bread and gave thanks to God. In the same way we should be grateful to
God for all He has done, and will do in our lives. We should also be grateful
for God’s provision.
The
scripture tells us that if we seek God first He will provide everything we
need. Jesus tells us not to worry about the things the world worries about:
Luke
12:22-31 NIV
Do
Not Worry
22Then Jesus said to his
disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do
not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you
will wear. 23Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
24Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no
storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than
birds! 25Who of you by
worrying can add a single hour to his life[a]? 26Since
you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27"Consider how the lilies
grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his
splendor was dressed like one of these. 28If that is how God clothes
the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the
fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29And do not set your heart on
what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30For the pagan
world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.
31But seek his kingdom, and
these things will be given to you as well.
What are the main points in this passage?
·
Jesus institutes the Lord’s Supper.
·
Jesus uses the bread and wine to symbolize His work on the cross.
·
Jesus gave His life to cover the sins of those who receive God’s
free gift of Salvation.
Is there a lesson or principle that is a universal truth?
·
Jesus’
work on the cross accomplished redemption for those who have become followers
of Him. Those who believe that what Jesus did on the cross covered their sin,

Hebrews 7:22 NIV
Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.
Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.
Why did God put this passage in the Bible?
·
To
give us a model for the Lord’s Supper.
·
To
remind us that Jesus’ work on the cross was for the forgiveness of sin for
those who choose to receive it.
·
To
remind us the Jesus is going to return to set up His Kingdom.
What
does the passage reveal about the character of : God/Jesus?
A.
His
attributes:
·
Sacrificial
lamb, King Of Kings Lord Of Lords
B. His ways of
relating/communicating to people:
·
Through
His teaching about His work on the cross for the forgiveness of many. Through
the symbolism of the Bread and Wine.
C. His emotions:
·
D. His views:
·
Those
who believe and receive what Jesus did on cross are forgiven of their sin.
E. Reasons for us to love Him more:
·
Jesus
gave His Life so we could have a new eternal life. And through Jesus’ work we
are now in a right relationship with God because our sins are covered, and God
sees us through Christ’s righteousness. Jesus willingly did this work so we
could be forgiven once and for all.
3. Application: How can I apply what I have learned
to my life?
·
Have
I accepted the broken body and shed blood of Christ as the covering for my sin
and thanked Him for it?
·
What
can I do to understand better the significance of the Lord’s Supper?
·
With
whom will I share the good news of the new covenant this week?
……………………………………………………………………………….......
My
prayer for you:
I pray you will take God’s Word to heart and ask God to help you
apply what you have learned. I hope and pray that this Bible Study helps you
grow spiritually by deepening your faith, trust and love for God.
Jesus
declared that if we seek God, he will provide everything we need to live the
abundant life, providing for us physically and spiritually:
Matthew 6:32-33 Living Bible (TLB)
“So
don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen?
For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them.
But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and
he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as
he wants you to.
John 10:10 English Standard Version (ESV)
The
thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may
have life and have it abundantly.
Philippians 4:19 New Living Translation (NLT)
And
this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his
glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
John 14:26 (NIV)
But
the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will
teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Also,
remember the importance and impact of embracing of God’s Word in light of how
we are to be God’s Ambassadors and Teachers, as well as to live abundantly in a
fallen world:
1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)
But
in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an
answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
But do this with gentleness and respect,
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
All
Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training
in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every
good work.
Psalm 119:105 (ESV)
Your
word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
John 8:31-32 (NIV)

the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you
are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set
you free.”
